Increased Yahoo! email security with OAuth 2.0

Wednesday, February 11th, 2015

OAuth 2.0 for Yahoo! upgrades your email security and increases peace of mind.  Yahoo is now migrating their email systems to the industry standard IMAP and OAuth 2.0.  As with Gmail and our previous update to Yahoo integration security with OAuth; OAuth 2.0 is a huge step forward in the protection and security of your email.

OAuth 2.0 Lock and Key

Think of this upgrade like your email door with a much improved lock.  The old lock and key have been replaced with a stronger lock and key.  The key being your access information to your email account, which is never shared due to OAuth 2.0 security.

For current Boxbe users, the new “key” will need to be used to lock the connection between your email account and your Boxbe user account.  This will require a quick reauthorization of Boxbe’s access to your Yahoo! mailbox:

To begin, simply click to visit our secure reauthorization page. Make sure that you are logged in to your account at Yahoo Mail, then click the “Authorize with Yahoo” button.

We wholeheartedly support Yahoo’s continued efforts to secure your inbox and continue to work with Yahoo to make sure that our service will never – in any way – risk your privacy or security, yet continue to protect you from unwanted and dangerous emails.

We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to serving you for many years to come.
